Albi, Cordes sur Ciel, Gaillac and Saint Antonin
are four treasures of our region. Albi is the home of
the painter Toulouse Lautrec. Cordes sur Ciel, perched
mysteriously above the clouds, is a centre for crafts
and ceramics. Saint Antonin is a medieval masterpiece
at the foot of the Aveyron Gorge. Gaillac is an ancient
town steeped in wine culture. All are within easy access
of Les Pradals
Sports that you may like to try here include cycling,
mountain biking, riding, canoeing, golf and pot holing.
Just 10 minutes from us you will find Cap Découverte,
a 1600 acre sports and activity park offering dry slope
skiing, snowboarding, zip-lining, tobogganing, rollerblading,
skating and water skiing. Or you may enjoy a forest
adventure park. Motor sport fans will love Albi F3000
racetrack and the world championship motocross course
at Castelnau de Lévis.
South West France is famed for its gastronomy. Well
placed in the heart of the Gaillac wine growing region
and we are sure you will be delighted by our neighbour's
wonderful "Croix Petite" red wine. It has
won prizes all over France. Jean Marc and Rosy Balarin
will offer you a warm welcome when you walk up to their
vineyard. And for an unforgettable meal try Bruno Besson's
"La Taverne" in Castelnau de Lévis
(five minutes away). In Cordes sur Ciel try "le
Grand Ecuyer", the Queen Mother's favourite restaurant.
Summer festivals offer a great way to participate in
the local culture. The "Pause Guitare" festival
in Monesties (ten minutes away) offers music for all
tastes in July. The "L'été de Vaour"
street theatre festival (fifteen minutes away) is great
entertainment for August evenings, whilst August's "
Fete du Vin" in Gaillac (fifteen minutes away)
is the ideal way to really get to know the region's
finest wines. For something altogether more rural how
about coming with us to the Sainte Croix "Fete
du Village" in September.
